A comforting and indulgent dish featuring tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy sour cream and cheese sauce, perfect for family dinners.

  • 4 medium chicken breasts
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch or all-purpose flour (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer, pounding or butterflying them if necessary.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the sour cream, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and cornstarch or flour.
  4. Top each chicken breast with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Spoon the creamy sauce over and around the chicken, then sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan.
  6. Bake for 25–35 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the top is golden brown.

Notes

To lighten the dish, consider using Greek yogurt and low-fat cheese substitutes. Pair with a salad or vegetables.
