  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  3. Incorporate the sour cream and vanilla extract until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare baking sheets.
  8. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut out cookies.
