  • ¾ cup buttermilk Provides moisture and tenderness.

For the Filling

  • 1 pound roast beef, thinly sliced The star of the dish!
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded For that melty goodness.
  • 1 cup beef broth To dip and enhance flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Adds depth to the broth.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the chilled, cubed butter and mix using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the buttermilk just until combined, creating a soft, tender dough.
  • On a floured surface, gently roll out the dough to about ½ inch thick and cut out rounds.
  • Place half of the biscuit rounds on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Layer each with roast beef and Swiss cheese, then top with the remaining biscuit rounds.

Baking

  • Brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Serving

  • In a saucepan, combine the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, and heat over medium until warm.
  • Remove the biscuits from the oven and serve warm alongside the dipping sauce.

Notes

Consider substituting with gluten-free flour or sautéed mushrooms for a vegetarian option. Pair with a salad for a lighter meal.
