Main Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour The foundation of our cookies, providing the perfect texture.
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Adds richness and a tender crumb.
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar Sweetens the cookies and contributes to that delightful crispness.
  • 1 pc egg Binds everything together and helps achieve that perfect cookie dome.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Infuses a warm, aromatic sweetness that elevates the entire cookie.
  • 0.5 tsp salt A pinch enhances flavors and balances the sweetness.
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips The crowning glory that makes these cookies truly special.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cream the butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually stir in the flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
  • Lightly flour your countertop, roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thickness, and cut out heart shapes with a cookie cutter.
  • Place the cookie hearts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 8–10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before dipping into melted semi-sweet chocolate.
  • Dip the cooled cookies into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off before setting them back on parchment to cool and harden.

Notes

Chill the dough if it becomes too soft to make cutting easier. For a twist, add sprinkles or nuts on top of the melted chocolate before it sets. Use quality chocolate for the best flavor.
