Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the fresh orange zest.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  • Fold in the dark chocolate chunks.
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until slightly underbaked in the center.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

To enhance flavors, chill cookie dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Use high-quality chocolate for better flavor, and consider adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg.
