Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine the toasted sesame oil, low-sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey or maple syrup, grated garlic, grated ginger, and Dijon mustard if using. Whisk until smooth to create the dressing.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced green cabbage, red cabbage, shredded carrots, and green onions. Toss together until well mixed.
  • Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss gently until everything is coated.
  • Let the slaw sit for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Letting the slaw sit enhances the flavor. Use pre-shredded vegetables to save time. Adjust dressing ingredients to taste.
