Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 2 count ripe avocados (about 300g): The creamy base, providing a rich texture and healthy fats.
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (170g): This adds that luscious chocolatey flavor.
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (15g): For an extra chocolate kick and to coat the truffles.
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (30ml): To sweeten the truffles naturally.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract For a hint of warmth and depth in flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is smooth.
  • In a large mixing bowl, scoop out the ripe avocados and mash them until completely smooth. Make sure there are no lumps.
  • Pour the melted chocolate into the bowl with mashed avocado. Add cocoa powder, maple syrup or honey, and vanilla extract. Mix everything together until it forms a rich mixture.
  • Place the bowl in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the mixture to firm up.
  • Once chilled, grab a small amount of the mixture and roll it into small balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter.
  • Coat each truffle in cocoa powder, shredded coconut, or crushed nuts.

Notes

Ripe avocados are essential for the best flavor and texture. Feel free to experiment with different coatings like crushed nuts or colorful sprinkles. Chilling the mixture helps the truffles hold their shape.
