Spices

Preparation

  • Start by browning the ground beef. In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently to break it into small pieces. If there’s excess fat, consider draining it.
  • Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, and chopped bell pepper. Sauté for approximately 4-5 minutes until the vegetables have softened.

Cooking

  • Stir in the drained kidney beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, ground cumin, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes (if using), and beef broth. Mix everything well.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 20-30 minutes.
