Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Press the refrigerated pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan and prick the bottom with a fork.

Cooking

  • Melt the unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the peeled and chopped shrimp, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper, and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until barely pink.
  • Remove from heat, add garlic herb cheese, and stir until melted and combined.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and half-and-half until smooth.
  • Spread the shrimp mixture evenly over the prepared crust, then pour the egg mixture on top.
  • Sprinkle shredded pepper jack cheese over the filling.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the filling is set but slightly jiggles in the center.
  • Allow cooling for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh shrimp. Chill the dough before baking for a flakier crust. Consider adding sautéed bell peppers or spinach for added nutrition.
