Ingredients
  

For the Custard

  • 2 cups milk Whole milk works best for a rich custard.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Sweetens the custard.
  • 4 large egg yolks Provides smooth and creamy texture.
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch Thickens the custard.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor.

For the Tart

  • 1 pre-made tart shell pre-made tart shell Flaky and buttery for best texture.
  • 1 cup mixed fresh fruits Strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, etc.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Custard

  • In a saucepan, heat the milk and half of the sugar over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, cornstarch, and the remaining sugar until smooth.
  • Gradually add the hot milk mixture to the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  • Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Assemble the Tart

  • Pour the custard into the pre-made tart shell and let it cool to room temperature.
  • Once cooled, top with fresh mixed fruits and chill in the refrigerator before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding a layer of fruit preserves under the fresh fruit. Garnish with mint leaves and serve with whipped cream.
