Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, and granulated sugar.
  • In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Pour the yeast mixture into the dry ingredients and add olive oil, mixing until well combined.
  • Carefully fold in parmesan cheese and minced garlic, along with optional herbs if using.

Rising

  • Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for 12–18 hours or overnight.

Baking

  • Transfer risen dough to a floured surface and shape into a round loaf.
  • Let the dough rest while preheating your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • Score the top of the dough and bake in a preheated Dutch oven for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes.
  • Let the bread cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

To enhance flavors, consider adding different cheeses or herbs. Store in an airtight container for freshness.
