Frosting Ingredients

  • 1-2 tablespoons milk To achieve desired consistency.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 1/4 teaspoons of active dry yeast, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  • In a saucepan, gently heat 1/4 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of water, and 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter until warm but not boiling.
  • Pour the warm mixture into the dry ingredients and add in 1 large egg. Stir to combine until a dough starts to form.
  • Turn the mixture onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • While the dough rises, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Once risen, roll the dough into a large rectangle. Spread melted butter over the surface and sprinkle generously with ground cinnamon and 1/4 cup of brown sugar.
  • Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Cut into even slices, usually about 1 inch thick.
  • Place the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
  • Bake in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let the rolls cool slightly before drizzling with pink frosting. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Ensure the liquids are warm but not hot when mixing with yeast; excessive heat can kill the yeast. For extra flavor, consider adding nuts or raisins to the filling.
