  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup Elevates the gravy.
  • 1 cup water Combines all flavors.
  • 1 packet (about 0.87 oz) brown gravy mix For a rich gravy.
  • Parsley (optional, for garnish) Adds freshness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, Montreal steak seasoning, egg, and bread crumbs. Mix until just combined.
  • Divide the mixture into four patties and brown them in a hot skillet for 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Once browned, place the patties into a lightly greased slow cooker.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, water, and brown gravy mix.
  • Pour the creamy mixture over the patties in the slow cooker.

Cooking

  • Allow everything to cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 5-6 hours until patties are tender.

Serving

  • Serve the Salisbury steaks with gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

To lighten the meal, use whole-wheat bread crumbs or a dairy-free cream of mushroom soup. Watch for overbaking to avoid dryness.
