Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless chicken breasts, sliced into ½-inch strips Pat dry for better searing.
  • 1 tbsp neutral cooking oil For searing the chicken.
  • Salt to taste Salt For seasoning the chicken.
  • Black pepper to taste Black pepper For seasoning the chicken.

For the Sauce

  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce For sweetness and umami flavor.
  • 2 tbsp pure honey Adds sweetness.
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce Adjust based on spice preference.
  • 1 tbsp packed brown sugar For extra sweetness.
  • 2 tsp fresh ginger, finely minced Enhances flavor.
  • 2 tsp garlic, finely chopped Adds aroma and taste.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, hot sauce, brown sugar, minced ginger, and chopped garlic until smooth.
  • Season the chicken strips with salt and black pepper. Pat them dry for a good sear.

Cooking

  • Heat the neutral cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear the chicken strips for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Pour the glaze over the chicken and reduce heat to medium. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens and glazes the chicken.
  • Allow the chicken to rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the glaze for a couple of hours or overnight. Use a non-stick skillet for even cooking, and ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
