Ingredients

For the Salmon

  • 4 pieces Salmon Fillets (fresh Atlantic or wild-caught, skin-on) Each fillet exudes a soft, creamy texture, and the skin provides a crunchy contrast.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (for brushing) This golden oil adds a luxuriant richness.

For the Glaze

  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Transforms into caramelized deliciousness when heated.
  • 1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika Adds earthy warmth.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Brings depth and fragrance.
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice Brightens and elevates the flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard Provides a sharp kick and complexity.
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce Provides umami and balances sweetness (tamari for gluten-free).

For Garnishing

  • 2 tablespoons Parsley (optional) A fresh touch that beautifies the dish.
  • 2 pieces Lemon Wedges (for serving) Adds brightness to the plate and enhances flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven or broiler to high.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and soy sauce. Stir well to create a glossy mixture.
  • Brush the salmon fillets with olive oil, ensuring a light coating.

Cooking

  • Place the salmon skin-side down on a broiler-safe pan or baking sheet. Pour the sweet smoky glaze over the fillets.
  • Broil the salmon for about 10-15 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  • Let the fillets rest for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

For a healthier twist, consider marinating the salmon in the glaze for a couple of hours. Store leftover salmon in an airtight container for up to three days. You can freeze uncooked salmon fillets with the glaze for up to two months.
