Preparation

  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in a few drops of food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  • Add the Rice Krispies cereal and mix until well coated.
  • Press the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch pan.
  • Allow to cool, then use heart-shaped cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
  • Decorate with sprinkles before serving.

Notes

Use fresh marshmallows for the best texture. Mix colors for a unique look, and spray your hands with non-stick cooking spray when pressing the mixture into the pan. Try different shapes or flavors to create unique variations.
